Just a quick note that we added a few more pictures on the picture page and on top of that, Tilde wanted to say something:
"Hej farmor, hej farfar, hej mormor och morfar! Hej gammelmormor! Vi ses snart i Sverige, jag saknar er!"

What happened to the summer? After we got back from Alaska, it seems like it just flew by. On top of that, the weather took a drastic turn for the worse this week and we now have 15C and rain. Quite a change from just two weeks ago. With that, we are harvesting the last of the tomatoes and other warmer weather veggies as we speak. We also have 5-6 melons to harvest this year!
Tilde has started her preschool at Farrel-McWhirter and she loves it. She is really starting to get into writing letters and spelling of words. Sophie is kind of jealous and wants to do preschool as well, but she is still a couple of years off. At least, she is slowly getting started on her potty training, a must for preschool.. :
What else have we done since we got back from Alaska? Joern, Jesper, and Andreas brewed beer at Gallagher's. It was successful enough for them to considering going back to do it again. Andreas has worked on the yard (mulching, mulching, and more mulching). We've done a few trips out to Woodinville Wine Country (we DO spend too much time and money there.. :)) for wine tasting and lunch at Village Wines. Gone on a couple of short hikes with the kids. Spent time with friends, as well as finding time for dinners at Preservation Kitchen, The Grange Cafe, Brix Wine Cafe, and A Taste of India (an Indian place we actually like). Next in line is either Matt's in the Market or Cafe Juanita, but either will be without the kids since that will be date night!
We also found time for one more thing: Realizing we forgot to empty one camera after the Alaska trip. So jump over to the picture page and enjoy another gallery from the trip.

Since Andreas spent last week in Las Vegas (attending Black Hat), we decided to take it a bit easy during the weekend. After a quick trip to the airport around noon on Saturday, we prepared for the Olsen family to come over for dinner later in the evening. We prepared some Carne Asada which was served with dirty rice and a mix of Mexican inspired side dishes. All very good. On Sunday (today) we first did a quick trip over to Ikea and then headed over to Poulsbo RV. Yes, we spent a few hours browsing RVs... :) Man, some of those Class A "buses" are quite nice.
Andreas also found some time to upload the fourth and last album from Alaska. It features pictures from Cooper Landing and the boat trip we did from Seward. As always, you can find it on the picture page.

Man, it's like we are on some kind of roll; third update in July alone. Don't get your hopes up too much though, we only wanted to tell you all the next Alaska album is on the picture page.

For the people who remembered to wish Andreas a happy birthday yesterday, there is a new set of pictures on the picture page. This one contains pictures from the scenic flight we did from Talkeetna and from the stay in Anchorage.
For the rest of you (you know who you are), we suggest you visit this page... :)
We've been back for a few weeks now and it has been full steam ahead the entire time. Andreas is trying to finish a bunch of projects in the backyard, such as mulching large areas and extending the lawn into other, new areas. We also got our new awnings (markiser) installed about a week ago, something which has been a life saver. The family room and kitchen are no longer a sauna! :) Andreas is also hoping to find some time soon to make a little "house walk movie" for friends and family who have not been here. Stay tuned!

Weather took a slight turn for the worse (only around 22C instead of 30-32C) so Andreas finally got around to uploading the first set of pictures from our Alaska trip. You can find them on the picture page.
Yesterday was July 4th, which means it was Independence Day here in the US. We celebrated it at our house together with Chri and Adrian. Dinner was barbequed Alaskan salmon and new potatoes as a main and then mixed berries and ice cream for dessert. The rest of the evening was spent sitting around the fire pit enjoying the fire.

So... We promised to do an update with pictures from the Alaska trip. Well, weather is just way too nice so we did this instead

We are back from Alaska! Stay tuned for updates with pictures and more. By the way, we did feel this and this... :)
March 31st, 2013
Sweden has had awful weather during March, at least, it has been very cold. This is apparently how it's been. In the meantime, this is what we've had to deal with this weekend in Seattle. It is now around 7.30pm and it's still close to 15C.
Tilde really enjoyed her birthday (wow, she is 4 now)! We had a small breakfast party, just like last year, with some of her close friends. There were toast, coffee, tea, and a bunch of other goodies. Tilde wanted carrot cake as her birthday cake. She was quite disappointed when mommy showed it to her and there were no carrots on it... :)
New pictures on the picture page.

Wow! Would you believe it is the middle of March already? We've been super busy with things booked almost every day of our weekends. Everything from dinners to going to The Museum of Flight. And with spring around the corner, there is plenty to do in the backyard now as well. We've even started our vegetables for this season. Oh, one fun fact about life in Seattle you probably don't not know about. Andreas was out last weekend. Moving the lawn. It desperately needed it. In early March... :)
The house is coming together nicely and we are getting prepared for remodeling the master bathroom. We are also planning on having the same crew rip out the last set of vinyl flooring and put down tiles instead. Once that is done, there are mostly smaller projects left to do (pantry shelving, garage storage shelving, new bathroom vanities in powder and guest baths, ...) which might keep Andreas busy during the fall / winter. After that, he needs to get himself a hobby or we need to move to a new house.
Tilde is going to start pre-school in September. She got a spot at Farrel-McWhirter pre-school, which is aimed more at keeping the kids outside while learning about nature and the outdoors. Tilde is very excited! Sophie has started doing gymnastics at Northwest Aerials together with her sister and Bekka. All while Apollo hangs out around the house and barks at strangers.
Almost forgot to mention that our new sofa and chair arrived from La-Z-Boy this Friday. This one is a nice dark brown color, which will be much easier to maintain than the white one we had. White furniture and kids is like cats and water, it just does not mix well... :)
